Adam Jones, Baltimore Orioles, OF

One of the perks of being a FSWA member is that they set up leagues for the members to play one another. The leagues were named after those members who won fantasy baseball writing awards or inducted into the Fantasy Sports Writers Hall of Fame in 2012. The list of winners is available here. No offense to Patrick DiCaprio , who had just signed me as a new addition to FP911 when it was time to choose leagues. The opportunity to join a league with ESPN’s Tristan Cockroft presented itself and as a new member of the FSWA  joining his league made me happier than a slinky on an escalator. If you don’t want to read my long draw out recap, here’s a link to the draft results.

Here is a quick heads up on the settings for those who want to continue to read. The league is a 2-Catcher 5×5 Roto with OBP(On Base Percentage)/SLG(Slugging  Percentage) in place of BA(Batting Average)/HRs(Home Runs) and QS(Quality Starts) in place of wins.

Round: 1
(1) Team Mike Gianella – Ryan Braun LF
(2) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Miguel Cabrera 3B
(3) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Mike Trout CF
(4) Team Niec – Joey Votto 1B
(5) NYC @RobShawSports – Albert Pujols 1B
(6) Team Ingram – Robinson Cano 2B
(7) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Prince Fielder 1B
(8) NYC @MarkusPotter – Andrew McCutchen CF
(9) Team Farrell – Carlos Gonzalez LF
(10) Memphis @datrueguru – Matt Kemp CF
(11) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Giancarlo Stanton RF
 (12) Cincinnati @Whudey – Troy Tulowitzki SS
Round Recap: I grabbed Troy Tulowitzki and was not entirely thrilled about it, but really I felt I had no other option. The career.364 OBP and .504 SLG numbers hard to dismiss. He’s very high risk, high reward. It looked like Dennis Farrell and I have rooting interest for each of our first round picks as Cargo and Tulo’s projected numbers are predicated upon both staying healthy.
Round: 2
(13) Cincinnati @Whudey – Jose Bautista RF
(14) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Justin Upton RF
(15) Memphis @datrueguru – Edwin Encarnacion 1B
(16) Team Farrell – Jose Reyes SS
(17) NYC @MarkusPotter – Evan Longoria 3B
(18) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Buster Posey C
(19) Team Ingram – Justin Verlander SP
(20) NYC @RobShawSports – Felix Hernandez SP
(21) Team Niec – Josh Hamilton CF
(22) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Dustin Pedroia 2B
(23) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Bryce Harper CF
(24) Team Mike Gianella – Hanley Ramirez 3B
Round Recap: I debated between Jose Bautista and Josh Hamilton a great deal. The tie-breaker was their projected OBP. In 2010 and 2011 When Baustisa was healthy he averaged 116 Walks. Josh Hamilton hasn’t gotten more than 60 the last three years. Joey Bats had 59 Walks in a injury shortened 2012 campaign.

Round: 3
(25) Team Mike Gianella – Clayton Kershaw SP
(26) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Stephen Strasburg SP
(27) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Jason Heyward RF
(28) Team Niec – Jacoby Ellsbury CF
(29) NYC @RobShawSports – David Price SP
(30) Team Ingram – Adrian Beltre 3B
(31) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Cole Hamels SP
(32) NYC @MarkusPotter – Jay Bruce RF
(33) Team Farrell – David Wright 3B
(34) Memphis @datrueguru – Matt Cain SP
(35) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Billy Butler 1B
(36) Cincinnati @Whudey – Adam Jones CF

Round Recap: 7 elite arms came off the board between my picks. My Personal favorite was Stephen Strasburg. I am going to be harassing Jim Bukowski all year for his services via trade. I had to get my man crush in Adam “Don’t Call me Pacman” Jones.
Round: 4
(37) Cincinnati @Whudey – Starlin Castro SS
(38) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Matt Holliday LF
(39) Memphis @datrueguru – Yoenis Cespedes LF
(40) Team Farrell – Yadier Molina C
(41) NYC @MarkusPotter – Yu Darvish SP
(42) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Austin Jackson CF
(43) Team Ingram – Ian Kinsler 2B
(44) NYC @RobShawSports – Cliff Lee SP
(45) Team Niec – Jered Weaver SP
(46) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Ben Zobrist RF
(47) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – B.J. Upton CF
(48) Team Mike Gianella – Joe Mauer C
Round Recap: I really was upset with myself here and hope it doesn’t come back to bite me. In hindsight my selection obviously should have been Ben Zobrist. Castro’s career OBP and SLG numbers .336 & .425, Zobrist .354 & .442. Excuse me while I bang my head maliciously upon my desk.
Round: 5
(49) Team Mike Gianella – Adrian Gonzalez 1B
(50) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Paul Goldschmidt 1B
(51) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Michael Bourn CF
(52) Team Niec – Gio Gonzalez SP
(53) NYC @RobShawSports – Brandon Phillips 2B
(54) Team Ingram – Craig Kimbrel RP
(55) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Ryan Zimmerman 3B
(56) NYC @MarkusPotter – Max Scherzer SP
(57) Team Farrell – Adam Wainwright SP
(58) Memphis @datrueguru – Aramis Ramirez 3B
(59) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Brett Lawrie 3B
(60) Cincinnati @Whudey – Chris Sale SP

Round Recap: Other than the Brett Lawrie pick based on the injury news before the draft. There were no real winners and losers in this round.

Round: 6
(61) Cincinnati @Whudey – Matt Wieters C
(62) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Yovani Gallardo SP
(63) Memphis @datrueguru – R.A. Dickey SP
(64) Team Farrell – Allen Craig 1B
(65) NYC @MarkusPotter – Carlos Santana C
(66) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Madison Bumgarner SP
(67) Team Ingram – CC Sabathia SP
(68) NYC @RobShawSports – Chase Headley 3B
(69) Team Niec – Johnny Cueto SP
(70) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Pablo Sandoval 3B
(71) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Jason Kipnis 2B
(72) Team Mike Gianella – Shin-Soo Choo RF
Round Recap: I admit that I panicked here shouldn’t have been trying to mutli-task between twitter and my draft. I wanted a solid pair of catchers in a two catcher league and had I known Carlos Santana was sitting there I would have drafted him. Carlos Santana’s OBP is about 20 points higher than Matt Wieters for his career.

Round: 7
(73) Team Mike Gianella – Zack Greinke SP
(74) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Matt Moore SP
(75) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Mat Latos SP
(76) Team Niec – Ian Desmond SS
(77) NYC @RobShawSports – Desmond Jennings LF
(78) Team Ingram – Aroldis Chapman SP
(79) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Asdrubal Cabrera SS
(80) NYC @MarkusPotter – Alex Gordon LF
(81) Team Farrell – Martin Prado LF
(82) Memphis @datrueguru – Aaron Hill 2B
(83) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Eric Hosmer 1B
(84) Cincinnati @Whudey – Ike Davis 1B

Round Recap: I have Ike Davis fever. I wanted no part of Zack Grienke.

[blackbirdpie url=”https://twitter.com/Dennis77Farrell/status/315109124843130880″]

Not now Dennis.

Round: 8
 (85) Cincinnati @Whudey – Mark Trumbo LF
(86) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Tim Lincecum SP
(87) Memphis @datrueguru – Jordan Zimmermann SP
(88) Team Farrell – Shane Victorino CF
(89) NYC @MarkusPotter – Freddie Freeman 1B
(90) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Jason Motte RP
(91) Team Ingram – Victor Martinez C
(92) NYC @RobShawSports – Roy Halladay SP
(93) Team Niec – Jonathan Papelbon RP
(94) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Mariano Rivera RP
(95) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Kris Medlen SP
(96) Team Mike Gianella – Anthony Rizzo 1B
Round Recap: I grabbed Mark Trumbo for his slugging. Power production shouldn’t be an issue in the Angels lineup. Ouch, Jason Motte hit the DL post-draft. Sorry, Tristan.
Round: 9
(97) Team Mike Gianella – Jose Altuve 2B
(98) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Mike Moustakas 3B
(99) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Paul Konerko 1B
(100) Team Niec – Carlos Beltran RF
(101) NYC @RobShawSports – Dexter Fowler CF
(102) Team Ingram – Ryan Howard 1B
(103) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Josh Willingham LF
(104) NYC @MarkusPotter – Joe Nathan RP
(105) Team Farrell – Dan Haren SP
(106) Memphis @datrueguru – Jimmy Rollins SS
(107) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Alex Rios RF
(108) Cincinnati @Whudey – James Shields SP
Round Recap: If there is one upside to James Shields its that he is durable. Shields has averaged 33 Starts per year over the last 3 seasons. I’ll gladly take 20 + Quality Starts and 200 + Strikeouts in this round. I also loved the Dexter Fowler selection.
Round: 10
(109) Cincinnati @Whudey – Curtis Granderson CF
(110) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Josh Johnson SP
(111) Memphis @datrueguru – David Freese 3B
(112) Team Farrell – Howard Kendrick 2B
(113) NYC @MarkusPotter – Jake Peavy SP
(114) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Brandon Morrow SP
(115) Team Ingram – Elvis Andrus SS
(116) NYC @RobShawSports – Danny Espinosa 2B
(117) Team Niec – Nelson Cruz RF
(118) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Rafael Soriano RP
(119) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Brett Anderson SP
(120) Team Mike Gianella – Rickie Weeks 2B
Round Recap: Even though Curtis Granderson could miss a month or more of action, he is a valuable asset to any fantasy roster in these FSWA Leagues strictly for the slugging percentage. Mike Gianella selected Rickie Weeks a round after Jose Altuve. This combination could create for perfect 2nd baseman with Altuve’s OBP and Weeks’s SLG numbers.
Round: 11
(121) Team Mike Gianella – Miguel Montero C
(122) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Jim Johnson RP
(123) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Alejandro De Aza CF
(124) Team Niec – Mike Napoli C
(125) NYC @RobShawSports – Wilin Rosario C
(126) Team Ingram – Hunter Pence RF
(127) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Melky Cabrera LF
(128) NYC @MarkusPotter – Carl Crawford LF
(129) Team Farrell – Anibal Sanchez SP
(130) Memphis @datrueguru – Alcides Escobar SS
(131) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Jon Lester SP
(132) Cincinnati @Whudey – Jeff Samardzija SP

Round Recap: You’re not going to find to many leagues where I do not own “The Shark,” Jeff Samardzija. Quality Starts may be an issue but I drool over the potential strikeout numbers. As much as I like Tristan Cockcroft, I won’t be drafting Melky Cabrera for any reason this year.

Round: 12
(133) Cincinnati @Whudey – Salvador Perez C
(134) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Jesus Montero C
(135) Memphis @datrueguru – Matt Harvey SP
(136) Team Farrell – Lance Lynn SP
(137) NYC @MarkusPotter – Chase Utley 2B
(138) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Neil Walker 2B
(139) Team Ingram – Chris Davis 1B
(140) NYC @RobShawSports – Carlos Gomez CF
(141) Team Niec – Dan Uggla 2B
(142) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Ian Kennedy SP
(143) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – John Axford RP
(144) Team Mike Gianella – Sergio Romo RP
Round Recap: Once Wilin Rosario and Miguel Montero came off the board I got worried and anticipated Perez not returning to me at my next picks, so I took my 2nd catcher. We later found out that Jeff Boggis had him all queued up and ready to be selected, but he was fine grabbing Jesus Montero as a consolation prize.
Round: 13
(145) Team Mike Gianella – Norichika Aoki RF
(146) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Fernando Rodney RP
(147) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Jonathan Lucroy C
(148) Team Niec – Jason Kubel LF
(149) NYC @RobShawSports – Alex Avila C
(150) Team Ingram – Joel Hanrahan RP
(151) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Nick Swisher RF
(152) NYC @MarkusPotter – J.J. Putz RP
(153) Team Farrell – Jarrod Saltalamacchia C
(154) Memphis @datrueguru – Glen Perkins RP
(155) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Brian McCann C
(156) Cincinnati @Whudey – Todd Frazier 3B

Round Recap: When you look at this round there were a lot of names I like this year involved. Jonathan Lucroy, Norichika Aoki, Jason Kubel and Nick Swisher all came off the board. I went the homer route and grabbed Todd Frazier as power started to become more and more scarce.
Round: 14
(157) Cincinnati @Whudey – Homer Bailey SP
(158) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Kenley Jansen RP
(159) Memphis @datrueguru – Brett Gardner LF
(160) Team Farrell – C.J. Wilson SP
(161) NYC @MarkusPotter – Lance Berkman 1B
(162) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Jonathon Niese SP
(163) Team Ingram – Pedro Alvarez 3B
(164) NYC @RobShawSports – Adam Dunn 1B
(165) Team Niec – Greg Holland RP
(166) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Michael Cuddyer RF
(167) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Erick Aybar SS
(168) Team Mike Gianella – Torii Hunter RF

Round Recap: Another Homer pick in Homer Bailey. This was just a case of me getting my guy here. I had Brett Gardner as a SB/R play and Micheal Cuddyer ready to go in my queue ahead of the Cincinnati starting pitcher, but couldn’t resist.
Round: 15
(169) Team Mike Gianella – Huston Street RP
(170) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Michael Morse LF
(171) Jake Ciely @allinkid – David Ortiz DH
(172) Team Niec – Andre Ethier RF
(173) NYC @RobShawSports – Doug Fister SP
(174) Team Ingram – Jeremy Hellickson SP
(175) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Angel Pagan CF
(176) NYC @MarkusPotter – Kendrys Morales 1B
(177) Team Farrell – Emilio Bonifacio CF
(178) Memphis @datrueguru – Ernesto Frieri RP
(179) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Ben Revere RF
(180) Cincinnati @Whudey – Coco Crisp CF
Round Recap: I wanted Ben Revere, (*old man fist shakes*) but I settled for Coco Crisp. There was value galore in round 15 with Doug Fister, Andre Ethier and Michael Morse. All were great selections this late in the draft.
Round: 16
(181) Cincinnati @Whudey – Jarrod Parker SP
(182) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Addison Reed RP
(183) Memphis @datrueguru – Brandon Moss 1B
(184) Team Farrell – Chris Perez RP
(185) NYC @MarkusPotter – Corey Hart 1B
(186) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Adam LaRoche 1B
(187) Team Ingram – Rafael Betancourt RP
(188) NYC @RobShawSports – Derek Jeter SS
(189) Team Niec – Will Middlebrooks 3B
(190) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Adam Eaton CF
(191) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Josh Rutledge SS
(192) Team Mike Gianella – Josh Beckett SP
Round Recap: This round became the injury watch round with Derek Jeter, Adam Eaton and Corey Hart all to start the year on the DL, but all are quality gambles for the long roto season ahead.
Round: 17
(193) Team Mike Gianella – Chris Carter 1B
(194) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – A.J. Pierzynski C
(195) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Tom Wilhelmsen RP
(196) Team Niec – Grant Balfour RP
(197) NYC @RobShawSports – Manny Machado 3B
(198) Team Ingram – Jayson Werth RF
(199) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Carlos Ruiz C
(200) NYC @MarkusPotter – Mike Minor SP
(201) Team Farrell – Jonathan Broxton RP
(202) Memphis @datrueguru – Steve Cishek RP
(203) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Kyuji Fujikawa RP
(204) Cincinnati @Whudey – Hiroki Kuroda SP

Round Recap: This is the round I decided to punt saves. A run happened in between my picks and wiped out most of the closers on my board. Which reminded me of my FantasyTrade411.com colleague and FSWA Member Micheal Clifford’s article on ” Great White Buffalo and punting saves”., so I went all Yankee with my next picks in Kuroda and Suzuki. These were two reliable choices this late in the draft who may lack extreme upside, but should provide help to my roster without damaging ratios.
Round: 18
(205) Cincinnati @Whudey – Ichiro Suzuki RF
(206) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Everth Cabrera SS
(207) Memphis @datrueguru – Brandon Belt 1B
(208) Team Farrell – Jason Grilli RP
(209) NYC @MarkusPotter – Bruce Rondon RP
(210) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Bobby Parnell RP
(211) Team Ingram – Colby Rasmus CF
(212) NYC @RobShawSports – Casey Janssen RP
(213) Team Niec – Justin Morneau 1B
(214) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Ryan Vogelsong SP
(215) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Dayan Viciedo LF
(216) Team Mike Gianella – Starling Marte LF
Round Recap: I can smell your stink from Cincinnati, Colby Rasmus. Pee-Yew!
Round: 19
(217) Team Mike Gianella – A.J. Burnett SP
(218) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Carlos Quentin LF
(219) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Ryan Doumit C
(220) Team Niec – Ryan Dempster SP
(221) NYC @RobShawSports – Brandon League RP
(222) Team Ingram – Alex Cobb SP
(223) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Kevin Youkilis 3B
(224) NYC @MarkusPotter – Jed Lowrie SS
(225) Team Farrell – Jose Veras RP
(226) Memphis @datrueguru – David Murphy LF
(227) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Marco Scutaro 2B
(228) Cincinnati @Whudey – Jedd Gyorko 2B

Round Recap: I’m a sucker for Cincinnati Products and really wanted Kevin Youkilis to drop to me, but I settled for the sleeper pick in Jedd Gyorko.

Round: 20
 (229) Cincinnati @Whudey – Michael Young 1B
(230) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Alfonso Soriano LF
(231) Memphis @datrueguru – Matt Harrison SP
(232) Team Farrell – Matt Carpenter 1B
(233) NYC @MarkusPotter – Marco Estrada SP
(234) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Alexi Ogando SP
(235) Team Ingram – Josh Reddick RF
(236) NYC @RobShawSports – Nick Markakis RF
(237) Team Niec – Stephen Drew SS
(238) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Sergio Santos RP
(239) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – J.P. Arencibia C
(240) Team Mike Gianella – Tim Hudson SP
Round Recap: This was the first pick from Team Farrell that I liked as he snagged Matt Carpenter. The Carpenter hype train is heading full steam into the regular season.
Round: 21
(241) Team Mike Gianella – Wade Miley SP
(242) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Domonic Brown RF
(243) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Trevor Cahill SP
(244) Team Niec – Mark Reynolds 1B
(245) NYC @RobShawSports – Michael Brantley CF
(246) Team Ingram – Russell Martin C
(247) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Andrelton Simmons SS
(248) NYC @MarkusPotter – Jean Segura SS
(249) Team Farrell – Alexei Ramirez SS
(250) Memphis @datrueguru – A.J. Ellis C
(251) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – J.J. Hardy SS
(252) Cincinnati @Whudey – Brandon McCarthy SP
Round Recap: I decide to take gamble on Brandon McCarthy. If you follow him on twitter you would draft him too. Four shortstops were taken in this round and all were great value this late.
Round: 22
(253) Cincinnati @Whudey – Rajai Davis LF
(254) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Billy Hamilton SS
(255) Memphis @datrueguru – Joaquin Benoit RP
(256) Team Farrell – Denard Span CF
(257) NYC @MarkusPotter – Wilson Ramos C
(258) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Jaime Garcia SP
(259) Team Ingram – Lorenzo Cain CF
(260) NYC @RobShawSports – Chris Young CF
(261) Team Niec – Derek Holland SP
(262) Jake Ciely @allinkid – David Robertson RP
(263) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Oscar Taveras CF
(264) Team Mike Gianella – Jhonny Peralta SS

Round Recap: I’ll grab some cheap speed here with Rajai Davis.  As a Reds fan, I’m not too sure Billy Hamilton will receive more than 75 at bats this year. In keeper league, I would love a selection this late of “BHam” but taking a ride on “The Dusty Road” can be crazy. I am sure even with an injury to the current core of outfielders, Dusty Baker will find a way to play Willie Harris over Billy Hamilton. Hamilton would have to have a Mike Trout-esque start to 2013 in order to see more action than I predict.
Round: 23
(265) Team Mike Gianella – Edwin Jackson SP
(266) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Jurickson Profar 2B
(267) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Wandy Rodriguez SP
(268) Team Niec – Chris Iannetta C
(269) NYC @RobShawSports – Justin Maxwell CF
(270) Team Ingram – Shelby Miller RP
(271) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Vinnie Pestano RP
(272) NYC @MarkusPotter – Yonder Alonso 1B
(273) Team Farrell – Mitch Moreland 1B
(274) Memphis @datrueguru – Kyle Seager 3B
(275) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Tommy Hanson SP
(276) Cincinnati @Whudey – Tommy Milone SP

Round Recap: I’m not sure what to make of this round. Kyle Seager is a steal this late.
Round: 24
(277) Cincinnati @Whudey – Ross Detwiler SP
(278) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Ryan Madson RP
(279) Memphis @datrueguru – Jake McGee RP
(280) Team Farrell – Tyler Flowers C
(281) NYC @MarkusPotter – Julio Teheran SP
(282) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Mark Teixeira 1B
(283) Team Ingram – Garrett Jones 1B
(284) NYC @RobShawSports – Andy Dirks LF
(285) Team Niec – Clay Buchholz SP
(286) Jake Ciely @allinkid – David Hernandez RP
(287) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Rick Porcello SP
(288) Team Mike Gianella – Mike Fiers SP
Round Recap: I am sure Tristan was thrilled at getting Teixeria this late in the draft. It’s very hard to ignore what Julio Teheran has done this spring as he now is a lock to break camp in the rotation. Many fantasy baseball owners are buying in. I, on the other hand, am selling.
Round: 25
(289) Team Mike Gianella – Hisashi Iwakuma SP
(290) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Yasmani Grandal C
(291) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Daniel Murphy 2B
(292) Team Niec – Cameron Maybin CF
(293) NYC @RobShawSports – Ryan Ludwick LF
(294) Team Ingram – Carlos Marmol RP
(295) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Paul Maholm SP
(296) NYC @MarkusPotter – Hyun-Jin Ryu SP
(297) Team Farrell – Drew Storen RP
(298) Memphis @datrueguru – Shaun Marcum SP
(299) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Jeff Keppinger 3B
(300) Cincinnati @Whudey – Michael Saunders CF

Round Recap: Marcum will probably be cut from Mark Kaplan’s team here shortly.
Round: 26
(301) Cincinnati @Whudey – Sean Marshall RP (dropped for Tyler Colvin $3)
(302) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Juan Pierre LF
(303) Memphis @datrueguru – Matt Joyce RF
(304) Team Farrell – Matt Garza SP
(305) NYC @MarkusPotter – Sean Doolittle RP (Dropped for Michtell Boggs $13)
(306) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Brandon Beachy SP
(307) Team Ingram – Travis d’Arnaud C
(308) NYC @RobShawSports – Devin Mesoraco C
(309) Team Niec – Gordon Beckham 2B
(310) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Trevor Plouffe 3B
(311) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Edinson Volquez SP (Dropped for Nolan Arenado $1)
(312) Team Mike Gianella – Juan Francisco 3B
Round Recap: After the Chapman news broke there was no longer any use for Marshall being considered second in line for saves, so I dropped him for Tyler Colvin. I probably could have put $1 bid on him and still got him. I am rooting for Rob Shaw’s selection here. As a Reds Fan, I wish Devin Mesoraco got more of the at-bats in the catching platoon, but, like I said with Billy Hamilton, Dusty Baker aims to disappoint fantasy owners. The young catcher from the same blasted city that fraud of a groundhog is from could end up being a very sneaky SLG play. FAAB Budget of $100 nice snag of Mitchell Boggs for $13?
Round: 27
(313) Team Mike Gianella – Zack Cozart SS
(314) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Brian Matusz (Dropped for Craig Gentry $1)
(315) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Justin Ruggiano CF
(316) Team Niec – Johan Santana SP
(317) NYC @RobShawSports – Phil Hughes SP(dropped post draft for Brain Roberts $1)
(318) Team Ingram – Wil Myers RF
(319) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Chris Tillman SP
(320) NYC @MarkusPotter – Tyler Clippard RP
(321) Team Farrell – Cody Ross RF
(322) Memphis @datrueguru – Rob Brantly C
(323) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Mark Melancon RP
(324) Cincinnati @Whudey – Luke Gregerson RP

Round Recap: Luke Gregerson could be a “Great White Buffalo” this year.
Round: 28
(325) Cincinnati @Whudey – Aaron Hicks CF
(326) Jeff Boggis @JeffBoggis – Carlos Pena 1B
(327) Memphis @datrueguru – Wei-Yin Chen SP (Dropped for Phil Coke $0)
(328) Team Farrell – Justin Smoak 1B
(329) NYC @MarkusPotter – Jared Burton RP
(330) ESPN-Cockcroft @SultanofStat – Leonys Martin CF
(331) Team Ingram – Wade Davis RP
(332) NYC @RobShawSports – Jason Vargas SP (dropped post Draft for Yunel Escobar $1 )
(333) Team Niec – Jackie Bradley CF
(334) Jake Ciely @allinkid – Lucas Harrell SP
(335) Fantasy Sharks- Bukowski – Alex Rodriguez 3B (placed on DL and Yasiel Puig was added for $8)
(336) Team Mike Gianella – Dustin Ackley 2B
Round Recap: Aaron Hicks just grabbed the starting center field job in Minnesota and I will gladly take a end game flier on him. Jackie Bradley was selected by Stephen Niec and is currently pushing to break the opening day roster. That could be a quality end game move. I also like the Yasiel Puig move as the Los Angeles Dodgers brass have already sent him down to start the year in Triple-A, but he could easily return within a month or two after having a crazy good spring.

Overall, I like my roster. I felt I did a good job of zigging while the others zagged throughout the draft. I know Jeff Boggis wasn’t happy with me in the chat room a few times, but the draft as we all know is only a piece of the puzzle to a long competitive fantasy baseball season. There are still trades to be made and FAAB budgets to be depleted. I will do a few check-in articles on this league as the year progresses as I am sure you will be dying to know how I am doing against a loaded field of men whose fantasy sports work we all truly admire. Maybe I should go easy on them!? Nah.
