Let’s take a look at how things will stack up for you today, April 5, 2013.

WEATHER : In San Francisco there is a 20% chance of rain.

Pitchers I’ll be using

Zack Greinke ($8,600) vs. Pirates : Love the matchup against the Pirates at home. Greinke should put up 15+ pts. Looking for six-plus strikeouts and six-plus innings.

Bargain Pitcher

Daniel Straily ($6,300) vs. Houston : The Houston are on pace for 1,000,000 strikeouts this season. They are the anti-Moneyball team. Straily should have quality start for your team

 Catchers I’ll be using

Buster Posey ($3,900) vs. Cardinals : The price is high and you’ll need him to score five or more points to satisfy the cost, but he’s the best of the bunch here. If you’re saving at pitcher and shortstop it’s worth it.

Bargain Catcher

Yorvit Torrealba ($2,500) vs.Padres : You’ll see a theme today with the Rockies, I like them. I like them a lot. If Torrealba is the starter rock him.

1B I’ll be using

Albert Pujols ($4,200) vs. Rangers : Pujols hit the ball hard yesterday, which is a good sign. He missed hitting two-homers by a few feet. He also likes himself some Derrek Holland going 6-for-13 with two-homers.

Bargain 1B

Todd Helton ($3,300) vs. Padres : Um Jason Marquis is pitching. Enough said.

2B I’ll be using

Ian Kinsler ($4,000) vs. Angels : 11-for-32 lifetime against Jason Vargas, plus the home opener for the Rangers, to me equals five-plus points for Kinsler today.

Bargain 2B

Donovan Solano ($2,400) vs.Mets : He’s a starter, is 2-for-5 with a walk against Mets start  Jeremy Hefner.

3B I’ll be using

Ryan Zimmerman ($3,900) vs. Reds : Zimmerman doesn’t have a lot of history verse Homer Bailey, but he’s my one gut feeling today.

Bargain 3B

Jedd Gyorko ($3,000) vs. Rockies : Love the price, he’s a masher and he’s in Colorado today. Save some cash here.

Shortstop I’ll be using

Jose Reyes ($4,200) vs. RedSox : He’s my one positive player that I’ll be rolling Reyes out on all my teams today. RedSox can’t stop the run, and I have Reyes getting on twice with a stolen base and run.

OF I’ll be using

Mike Trout ($4,700) vs. Rangers : Trout has a .357 batting average against Holland with two-homers. The price is high but worth it.

Carlos Gonzalez  ($4,200) vs. Padres : See all my other Rockie posts.

Martin Prado ($3,900) vs Brewers : This is the toughest call of the day, but 6-for-14, and he’s bangin the ball right now.

Bargain OF

Brennan Boesch ($2,700) vs. Tigers : Boesch is 7-for-12 with a homer against Doug Fister. He should get the start today too.
