We are still early enough that we do not yet have daily news that affects the rankings, but we will soon. In the meantime here are the latest news items that will be part of the next set of updated rankings.
On twitter: @PeteAbe: Cherington made it fairly clear that Salty and Ross are the catchers and Lavarnway is AAA-bound–Drop Lavarnway in rankings, raise Ross as Saltalamacchia is weak.
Tony Campana DFA’d-drop him from Rankings. Cubs sign Schierholtz and Scott Hairston-probable platoon might be productive.
Felix Hernandez should move down on elbow issues–possibly confirmed by velocity decrease over last two years.
Indians sign Jason Giambi-ignore.
Mariners sign Jon Garland–might have value in that park-possibly rank at end of AL only but not mixed.
D’backs sign Rod Barajas–Probably not enough playing time but monitor in Spring Training.
Marlins sign Chone Figgins–two straight years below .200-no rank.
Mets sign Brandon Lyon-Francisco is still the closer and Lyon will regress off last year.
Dillon Gee to use nitroglycerin cream (!)-problems must be worse.
Brian McCann not ready for Opening Day-drop?
