Here we go with this week’s updated HVaC rankings. Data is as of June 15th. Few things to note:

  • You’ll notice in the scores that as the season gets shorter, the value of a pitcher decreases. There are fewer starts available for an owner each week and that diminishes what they can provide in the course of matchups. The less innings available, the less time for statistical accumulation.
  • The corner spots are dominating the top-25. First and third base continue to provide for plenty of offense and opportunity for fantasy owners. Second base is not far behind thanks to the balance it affords owners across multiple categories.
  • Jean Segura continues to slide at Shortstop. He started the season as a top-five player at the position but is now on the outside of the top-1o looking in. His production in RBI and runs has hurt him when it comes to the type of positional value needed.
  • Watch Shane Victorino. He comes in as the number 66 outfielder even with a projection of just 285 plate appearances the rest of the way. With a rehab assignment coming sooner rather than later, it could benefit owners to look early.
